Through the years, the popularity of the White Hart Inn generated the need for additional rooms. The adjacent Gideon Smith House was annexed to the inn to accommodate this demand. 

The Gideon Smith House, built in 1815, was once a private girls school. It exemplifies old New England charm with original hardwood floors, 19th century carpentry and stone fireplaces. The building is surrounded with private patios and benches nestled among our perennial gardens.
